Green Rush Nutrients Feeding Schedule

The Green Rush Feeding Schedule is super simple to follow and is only a 2 part system (Grow & Bloom). We recommend using the nutrients at the recommended amount of 1 teaspoon per litre of water or 1 tablespoon per gallon of water every second feeding. If you're growing indoors every second feeding usually equals once a week. If you're growing outdoors and feeding the plants more often usually you can give them the nutrients twice a week.

The nutrients are an all-in-one solution meaning you don't need to add any other nutrients into the feeding regiment. Cal-Mag, kelp, and other essential micronutrients are added into the nutrients already. Of course if your plants need a little extra something don't hesitate to feed them.

Our nutrients can be used in many setups. Soil, coco, as a foliar spray, rockwool etc. As a general recommendation, the nutrients are not 100% water soluble and you may see some particles left over after mixing. If your growing with small lines like in a drip irrigation system, pre-mix the nutrients prior to adding them to your system.

Take a look at the feeding schedule below:

Germination

During the germination and seedling stages of a plant’s life, they often don’t require a whole ton of additives. Root boosters that contain phosphorus & potassium are beneficial as they help the plant to develop a strong root base and allow for continued growth throughout the plant’s life. Even still, the plant in its first three weeks of life is fragile and should only be given small amounts of nutrients if any.

Vegetation

A plant will enter the vegetation stage in the 3-4th week of life when it has grown out it’s first set of leaves. This period of the plant’s life is when it is focused on growing out it’s stem and new formation of leaves. During this stage the plant will not grow any flowers or buds but rather will grow outwards according to the world around it and will require higher amounts of nitrogen compared to phosphorus and potassium. Often the medium into which it is grown, as well as the room the roots have to grow, will determine the overall size of the plant. For example, the size of the pot to which the plant is grown in will limit its height and outward growth. The plant will stay in this stage of growth anywhere from 4 to 15+ weeks depending on light cycles and type of plant.

During the first week of veg the plant is still in it’s initial growth and so we recommend using only 50% the recommended dosage (half teaspoon per litre of water). In week 2 and onward you can proceed with the regular amount of nutrient which is 1 teaspoon per litre of water.

Bloom

The plant’s Bloom or Flowering stage is all about bud growth. Your plant will cease to grow in height or width and will focus all of its energy on developing flowers. Because of this, the plant requires less nitrogen and more phosphorus and potassium to operate. Our Beefy Bud Bloom contains the right balance of NPK that your plant requires in flower.

Flushing

When growing organically, flushing is simply to stop feeding the plant with nutrients at least two weeks before harvest to allow the plant to deplete the excess nutrients in the growing medium. There is no need to flush gallons of water through the soil but rather just feed the plant as normal with water during this phase.

pH Levels

We often get questions about testing pH and if it's necessary given the nutrients are organic. We always recommend that you measure your pH levels at least the first few times after using our nutrients. Stabilizing pH levels are important to keep your plant healthy. Levels that are too high or too low may create an in-balance and cause certain nutrients to not become accessible to the plant.

General Rule of Thumb

Growing comes in many different climates, temperatures and setups. Our number 1 rule of thumb is to do what works best for you and the plants. Like humans, plants are unique. They often require different love and care depending on the type and individual unique setup.
